Richard Eppel is a Managing Director of Denary and a Managing Director of Navidar. Richard has been a business leader in the hi-tech industry for over 30 years. As a President and CEO, Richard has considerable first-hand experience managing and leading entrepreneurial companies.
In 2001, Richard Eppel founded Strategic Momentum, a consulting company focused on dramatically improving execution excellence throughout organizations so that their clients experience a sudden acceleration in business performance and separation from their competition.
Before founding Strategic Momentum, Richard Eppel was CEO of Anna Technology a company specializing in providing system solutions to the embedded market. Under his leadership, this $6 million company grew quickly to approximately a $27 million run rate. Prior to Anna Technology Richard was President of I-Bus, a designer, manufacturer and integrator of PC compatible computer platforms and systems for real-time commercial and industrial applications. Under his leadership, this $7 million company became a highly competitive enterprise growing 25% annually to a $34 million run rate.
As Vice President of Operations for the Engineering/Scientific business unit of National Advanced Systems, Richard Eppel successfully managed a new entrepreneurial business unit chartered with bringing value-added products to the engineering/scientific markets. Prior to this Richard served as President of Parallel Computer, a start-up specializing in building fault tolerant computers. Earlier, as Vice President of Engineering for Trilogy, Richard was responsible for logic design, power/packaging and design automation tools supporting the development of a high performance mainframe.
Richard Eppel started his computer career with Control Data Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of high performance scientific computers, communications equipment and peripheral products. During this time, he held a variety of positions, including General Manager of the Computer Development Division, General Manager of the Communications Systems Division, Director of Engineering, and Strategic Planner for new product line development.
Richard Eppel served on the national board of the TechAmerica, board of San Diego’s Economic Development Council, and the board of the San Diego World Trade Center. Richard holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. Richard Eppel holds the Series 62, 63 and 79 securities licenses.
